The reality we perceive is, in essence, the result of wave functions collapsing into particles upon observation. The forms we see around us are nothing but the culmination of atoms and subatomic particles, entities that exist in a state of duality, as both waves and particles. They remain in a field of potentiality, what quantum theory calls superposition, until the moment they are observed. At the point of observation, they collapse into form. In much the same way, our thoughts too exist in wave-like potential and infinite possibilities. When we bring our awareness to them, they collapse and take shape. Through visualization and imagination, we give them form. The more we dwell on these thoughts, the more we construct our own version of reality.
