Effective Communication: A Dialogue with the Self

Communication, in its simplest definition, means ensuring that what you wish to convey is heard and understood by the other person as you intended. Often, it is viewed through the lens of language and the clarity with which we articulate our thoughts. However, true communication goes far beyond this basic understanding. To communicate effectively, the process must begin within yourself. This inner dialogue is the foundation of all meaningful exchanges. It requires learning to talk to your "self"—not just letting thoughts pass through your mind, but engaging in conscious, intentional conversation. Many mistake the stream of thoughts for internal communication, but true communication with oneself is much deeper. It’s also a process of filtering out disempowering thoughts and allowing only those that nurture growth to take root. However, the truth is that beyond the mind lies the Self—your core being—which holds the...

Rewriting Your Life’s Story

Transitioning from nearly three decades in corporate life to a more fulfilling existence was smoother than I had imagined. The corporate world provided a strong foundation, shaping my skills, broadening my perspectives, and instilling discipline. Yet, a stage comes when what you do no longer resonates with your inner self. This prompts a deeper search for alignment with your true purpose. But finding this deeper purpose is not easy. It requires intense self-reflection and the courage to question everything you’ve built so far. Transitioning from my comfort zone was a challenge. I came to understand that at no stage of life are we a spent force. The potential within us remains vast, awaiting conscious exploration. As the Bhagavad Gita teaches, "Uddhared Atmanatmanam"—Elevate yourself by yourself. This profound wisdom reminded me that the power to redefine my life rested within me. I am glad I made the effort to reorient myself and explore the different dimensions of my being,...
